BYE SEE YOU NEVER - A Tribute to Sashah Ra

Saying goodbye to Daegu was sad, much sadder than I anticipated. I met some truly wonderful people who went out of their way to make me feel welcome and loved! I only hope I can return the hospitality one day when some of you make it to Vancouver. Before I start weeping on my keyboard, here are the final pictures from Daegu...mostly my trip to Apsan, the world's most confusing mountain, and some other funny leftovers. Thank you come again:

It's a good thing I understand Korean - let the confusion begin.

Yo!

I literally just kept stumbling across temples.

Throughout the park there is a variety of exercise equipment available to the public, but it's mostly used by seniors. I managed to snag this pic while hiding in the trees.

Hiking is for suckas

Butterfree!

Holy Daegu

Korean couples leave their love locks all over the city, although I only have seen them on top of Apsan. It made me feel so alone...just kidding, it was sweet. I wonder what mushy messages are scrawled all over these padlocks...

They reserved the English signage for the top of the mountain.
You have to EARN it.

I'd like to make a collect call.

After my day on Apsan I went with Sashah to the local watering hole, Wa Bar, for some casual drinks. After a few beers Annette & Laura began casting devious glances at me from across the table; something told me my night was about to go from casual to crazy. Sure enough I was whisked downtown to Bunnies where I enjoyed capri-sun style beverages and cocktail pong, possibly the worst/best idea a bar has ever had. After a never-ending game of cocktail pong (alcohol does not improve aim) we wound up at the Korean club, Frogs, where I witness some Korean dancing at its finest.

We head to the dance floor, where of course, it isn't long before the song (you may have heard it) Gangnam Style comes on and the club goes wild. Now when a Korean club 'goes wild' it's like a drunken flash mob has broken out all around you - I felt terribly out of the loop but extremely impressed. The dancing was lead by the Korean version of One Direction at the front of the bar and as I looked around I realized everyone knew the routine. It was strangey and amazing, just like the rest of Korea.

Life is in the details.

World's longest game of cocktail pong.
Trying to capture the Korean dance-off...failing.

Thursday morning I awoke with a terrible headache but some hilarious memories. The evening came quick and being the popular new gal in Daegu, I had TWO separate evening plans; drinks with Ali and galbi with Lydia, making for another fun-filled and fantastic evening.

This bathroom was hardcore.

Building codes are pretty relaxed here. No touchy!
Korean restaurants have cool names
like "What," "Floor Face," and "It Plate"
Daegu saying "Bye Rochelle :)"

Shopping was maybe my favourite things to do in Daegu for three reasons: 1. The clothing is amazing 2. It's cheap 3. Hunting for Kanglish. Either copywriters don't exist in Korea, or more likely, they just don't care.
I made a sneaky game of trying to get pictures on Sashah's iphone.

Being modest is overrated.

Right?

Hate it when that happens.

Best Kanglish EVER

Favourite purchase in Daegu!

Also had to buy - so fancy.

There is no such thing as an ordinary cat.

Today was the final day with our two stupid babies, Cat and Doug, the most disrespectful room-mates I've ever had. JUST KIDDING, we loved them. The way you still love your babies even though you have to take turns getting up every 2 hours to stop them from crying throughout the night and they destroy everything nice you own. What we learned from the experience is that copious amounts of playtime is the only thing that stops Cat from meowing. And that there is nothing a cat can do to make me truly hate it. I miss those weirdo Korean cats already!!! They made my trip to Daegu even more memorable, and I'll never forget my time here with three crazy cats.

Sending these cats out photo montage-style, aw yeah.

No attention and no ribbon make Cat something something.

Go crazy?

DON'T MIND IF I DO!

Boop.

Note the ribbon says "Pizza School" - Sesh's fav pizza spot with cheese-stuffed crust.

"I have the cutest face ever."

Cat loves me.

Doug THINKS he's a fierce predator...LOL

Kitty cuddles!
